Masons to meet

The Lincolnton Masonic Lodge 354 holds its regular meeting os the third Thursday of every month. Dinner is served at 6:30 with the meeting starting at 7:30.

AA meeting

There is an Alcoholics Anony­mous/ Al Anon meeting being held each Tuesday Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Dunn’s Chapel Methodist Church located at 6563 Ridge Road in Ap­pling, Georgia.

Sunday services

Eastern Star to meet

Order of the Eastern Star meets the second Monday of every month. A covered dish meal begins at 7 p.m., the meeting begins at 8 p.m.

Jones fund at FSB

Saturday dance

Augusta Christian Singles host a dance every Saturday at the Ball­room Dance Center, 525 Grand Slam Dr., Evans, Ga. Admission is $10 guests, $8 members. Dance lessons for salsa, line dance, etc., is held from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.; dance is 7:30 - 10:30. Everyone ages 18 and up are invited. Dress is casual. Call 706- 294-7195 for more information.

Substance abuse class

Parks Grove FBH Church is hold­ing a substance abuse class every Monday night from 8-9 p.m. It’s open to men and women who are struggling with any type of addic­tion.

Story time at library

Story time is back at the library! Every Thursday at 11:00 is Tod­dler Time. Bring your non-school aged children while a few books are read. This is a great opportunity for toddlers to socialize and find a new favorite book.

Silver Lining anniv.

As we approach the sixth annivesary of the Silver Lining Foundation of Newberry Missionary Baptist Church we would like to thank you for your past support. As we continue to help those going thru cancer treatment, we hope that we can depend on your generosity this year.

The Master’s Closet is in need of donations of maternity clothes siz­es large and XL. Donations may be dropped off Tuesdays and Fridays from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. or placed in the donation bin outside.

Post 194 steak night

Bible study Tuedays

Rev. Dr. Anthoni D. McElrath, senior pastor of Green Grove Mis­sionary Baptist Church, Augusta, will host a weekly bible study on Tuesday nights, 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the Lincoln County Public Library.

Turkey shoot Nov. 24

The Little River Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation NWTF) will hold a turkey shoot at 10 a.m., on Saturday, November 24, at Norman's Wrecking located at3333CENormanRoadLin­colnton Ga. Lots of prizes will be awarded.

Community Thanksgiving service

The Lincoln County Ministerial Association will host a community- wide Thanksgiving service on Sun., Nov. 18 at 7 p.m. This year’s inter­denominational worship service will be held at Martin’s Crossroads Con­gregational Holiness Church located at 4458 Ga. Highway 220. Rev. Daravious Cullars of True Friend­ship Church will be the speaker. Everyone is invited to bring non- perishable food items for our local food bank and refreshments to share after the service. A love offering will be collected by the Ministerial Association to support those in need in our community.

Church anniversary

Freedom Ministries Church of Lincolnton, will celebrate their 12th Church Anniversary Sun., Nov. 18 beginning at 3 p.m. Apostle Anto­nio Williams from Temple of Faith Ministries in Augusta, Georgia will be the guest speaker. Dinner will be served following service. Freedom Ministries Church will also host a pre-Thanksgiving an­nual fall revival Nov. 19-21, at 7:30 p.m., Speakers will be: Mon. - Pas­tor Peggy Zellars of Solomon Pool Holiness Church, Lincolnton; Tues. - Pastor Ray Lewis of Lower Tab­ernacle Baptist Church, Lincolnton; Wed. - Pastor Tonita Cody of Parks Grove F. B. H. Church, Lincolnton. All are invited to come out to fel­lowship.

Basketball registration

Co-ed basketball registration is currently underway until Novem­ber 21. Registration is open to girls and boys ages 5 to 7, 8 to 9, and 10 to 12. The cost is $50 and there will be no late registrations. Contact Le­Trellis Glaze at the Lincoln County Recreation Department for more information.

Pastoral anniversary

Parks Grove will be celebrating Pastor Tonita Cody’s 20th Pastoral Anniversary on Sun., Nov. 11, 3 p.m., at The Lincoln Center. Pastor Franklin Jones of Freedom Ministry will be the guest speaker.

Free eye exam

Free eye exams will be available Nov. 9, 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., for the first 15 people to schedule an ap­pointment. The mobile vision clinic will provide free eye exams and low- cost glasses at the Lincoln County Health Department. No walk-ins accepted, you must schedule an appointment by calling LaKisha Kennedy at 770-738-4677.

Women’s day program

New Tabernacle Baptist Church Women’s Ministry will sponsor a Women’s Day Program on Sun., Nov. 11th, at 10:30 a.m. Guest speaker will be Evangelist Delores Hankerson of Hammond Grove Baptist Church, North Augusta, S.C. The public is invited to attend. Rev. Matthew Harden is the pastor.

Breakfast for veterans

All veterans are invited to a free breakfast at Hardee’s on Sun., Nov. 11th compliments of Rees Funeral Home.

Post 194 meeting

The American Legion Post 194 meets the third Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. at the legion home. Social hour begins at 6 p.m. All current and perspective members are encouraged to attend.

Food pantry hours

During the month of November the Lincoln County Food Pantry will be open from 9:00-12:00 on Thursdays: Nov. 1, 8 and 15, and Monday, Nov. 19from 9:00-12:00. The Pantry will be CLOSED on Thursday, November 22nd in ob­servance of Thanksgiving! The LCFP will be open on Thursday, Nov. 29.

Dinner Wed. night

Come get a home-cooked din­ner on Wednesday at the American Legion Post 194 beginning at 5:30 p.m. until gone. There is a different menu each week and the cost is $10. Call 706-359-3445 for more information.

Assessors meeting dates

The following dates are the 2018 regular scheduled meetings of the Lincoln County Board of Tax Assessors. All meetings are scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at the Board of Tax Assessors office. Any changes in meetings, dates, and times will be posted on bulletin board of the Lincoln County Courthouse, web­site, and the front door of the Tax Assessors Office. When time allows, we will also notify The Lincoln Journal: Tues., Tues., Nov. 20; and Tues., Dec. 18.

Christmas concert Nov. 24

First Baptist Church of Thomson will host the Mark Trammell Quartet and the Whisnants for a Christmas Concert Sat., Nov. 24, 6 p.m. at 253 Jackson St., Thomson. Doors open at 5 p.m. Mark Trammell is the 2018 Na­tional Quartet Convention Baritone of the year and was inducted into the Southern Gospel Hall of Fame. The Whisnants have celebrated 13 num­ber one songs and been nominated ten times for the Trio of the year. Admission is free. Love offering will be received. For more informa­tion call 706-595-4691.

Culling competition

The Little River Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation is holding a coyote cull competi­tion which will run through Janu­ary 13. A cash award of $10 per coyote, one prize for heaviest coyote, and one prize for a combo of five coy­otes will be offered. Weigh ins are held at Newford Creek Outdoors 418 Fain Road, Tignall Ga. Food pantry hours

During the month of November the Lincoln County Food Pantry will be open from 9-12 on Thursdays Nov. 1, 8, and 15. Then on Mon., Nov. 19 from 9-12. The Pantry will be closed on Thurs., Nov. 22nd in observance of Thanksgiving! Happy Thanksgiving! The LCFP will be open on Thurs., Nov. 29.

Reunion meeting Nov. 11

The Lincoln County Training School and West Side High School reunion group will meet Sun., Nov. 11, 4 p.m., at the library.

Trip to outlet stores

Mulberry CME Church is spon­soring a Christmas fellowship and shopping trip to The Tanger Outlet in Pooler, Georgia on Sat., Dec. 1. To secure a seat on the bus, the nonrefundable fee of $25 must be paid by Sat., Nov. 17. No seat is guaranteed until the fee is paid. Transportation will be provided by Horizon Bus Lines and will depart from the church at 7 a.m. and return at 7 p.m. An itinerary will be pro­vided when seats are secured. Dedication ceremony

A dedication ceremony honoring Austin Parks will be held at 3 p.m. on Sun., Nov. 11 at Larry Campbell Stadium. The ceremony is spon­sored by Berkshire Hathaway Home Services, Beazley Realtors. The public is invited to attend.

Celebrate Recovery

Celebrate Recovery is a Christ- centered, 12 step recovery program for anyone struggling with hurt, pain or addiction of any kind. It is a safe place to find community and freedom from the issues that are controlling our life. Meetings are each Thursday night beginning at 6:30 p.m. with snacks followed by CR at 7 p.m. at First Assembly of God on Thomson Highway.

Pastoral anniversary

Harmony Baptist Church will be celebrating the 15th Pastoral Anniver­sary for Pastor Freddie Neal, Sr. and Sister Kathy Neal on Sun., Nov. 11 at 2 p.m. Rev. Marilyn Cullars-Smith and Prices Grove Baptist Church will be in charge of the service. Everyone is invited and welcomed to come help us lift up the name of Jesus!

Post 597 to honor veterans

The Ladies Auxiliary of Thom­as Lane American Legion Post 597 will honor our local Veterans with a program and dinner on Sat., Nov. 10, at Post 597 located on Thomas Lane Post Road in Lincolnton, beginning at 4 p.m. All Veterans, along with one guest, are invited as we honor and show our appreciation to all the brave and dedicated men and women who sacrificed so that all of us may continue to enjoy the freedoms and protections we enjoy as Americans.

CWRT to meet
